With this movie and book. I don't know how I missed out on ever reading and/or seeing this, but I have never before seen any version of this movie or read the book. WHAT WAS I THINKING?! I borrowed it from a friend and watched it last night while Zach was at school until 10pm. This afternoon after preschool, I started reading it. Tonight, I am watching it again. I'm pretty sure this will be the way of things until my friend forces me to give this movie back...........

Have you seen any other version? I liked this one, but not nearly as much as the other 2 I grew up watching. LOVE this story!
ha...and i think this version is pretty boring (i'll watch it if i don't have to concentrate) but LOVE the LDS pride and prejudice. Probably cuz its set in provo and super opposite from the real version...enjoy your newfound love though!
I was the same way. When this movie came out I had never read the book or seen any of the older versions of the movie. One night I made Andrew watch it with me and I LOVED IT! I ended up having to buy the movie and read the book shortly after :)
Ooh! I also love this movie. Keira Knightley is amazing. Jake and I just watched the Dutchess and really liked it (except it was a little depressing.) My sister, Ashleigh, is also obsessed and has every movie of hers I think (Jane Austen).
How are you and the rest of your family? I just came across your blog through Rebecca's blog. Now let me tell you I didn't care for the Keira Knightley version of Pride and Prejudice at all. I am totally addicted to the A&E mini series version. You really need to check that out. It's sooooooooo much better.
Give my love to your mom and dad.

There's also a whole bunch of new, spin off books that are totally entertaining.
Haha! Welcome to the club right!? One of my memories from freshman year of college was how many times girls would get together and watch the 6hr BBC version of Pride and Prejudice! (which is really good btw...and made Colin Firth famous) :)
good times! have you read the other Austin books, or maybe the Bronte sisters? all awesome!
I just have to agree with those who have said to watch the BBC mini series. You will love it! By far the best version of the book.
I just finished Twilight and was about to read it again, but, I think I'll try this book instead... thanks! HOpe you guys are doing good!

Okay, I really can't figure it out, but how can you know me and have never seen any version of Pride & Prejudice? The best version, by far, is the A&E version with Colin Firth. This is a must see. Don't expect to understand or get everything in one watching either. I have seen it probably a hundred or so times, and am still noticing new, funny, things. I always said that this movie is for those with a higher level of thinking! It's one of my favorite movies. Enjoy! Oh, beware, it's a long one though, so you will need a few hours.
You are my daughter for crying out loud. You are Jessica's sister, how could you have missed in the DVD case? How could you have missed it all the times Jess and I have watched it. We even did it in the car once, but Dad made us listen through the headsets. He couldn't stand it.
You are going to like the A & E version with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy soooo much more than the other version. Alissa and I have a copy of it, and I must admit I quote it quite a bit.
I love P&P in all its glorious forms.
Colin Firth diving in a pond totally crowns the 4 1/2 hour viewing experience of the PBS version. You'll have to let the rest of us know how you like it.
(I'm playing catch up on your blog)
This movie is great. Want to know another that I could watch over and over? PENELOPE. Have you seen it? So fun!
Jackie!
I have owned the A&E version forever. We watch it all the time. It's even one of Todd's favorites. It is my favorite movie by far. Glad you've joined the club.
