Things I want to Remember....
Because these days I forget things so easily.
- The way I can get so distracted by the older boys while holding Kyler - and then all of a sudden I realize he is staring at me in this unexplainable way. It's like I'm his whole world and it's so full of love. It never fails to bring tears to my eyes, even when I think about it.
- How much Keegan loves little Kyler. He can't walk out of the house, go to bed, come back home, walk upstairs, etc. without kissing, hugging, touching his cheeks, telling him he loves him, or doing his best to get a smile from Kyler. Keegan adores him.
- Surprisingly, how much Kayden loves Kyler. I thought he would have a difficult time with a new baby. But he LOVES him. I love hearing "Haaah Bubba!" (hi baby) and watching Kayden run to Kyler every time he cries and try to hold his hand and say "shhhh." His attempts to be the "big" brother are beautiful. He even offered Kyler his chocolate milk once when Kyler was crying. "Wan my mil?" (ps...do your kids have trouble putting the last consonant on their words?)
- Overnight, Keegan has turned into a B.O.Y. Pretending to blow everything up, shoot it, wrestle, and telling me "I don't like all that marrying stuff. I'm just not that kind of guy." I'll remind you of that in a few years!! Along with this other comment he told me "ALL the girls love me, Mom. I think I'd like to go to outer space. It's annoying." (picture his little 5-year-old eyes rolling when he says this)
- Snuggling with Kyler in bed. Kayden wasn't a super cuddly baby, and I missed it. Kyler is very snuggly - I love to sneak a few moments cuddling with him in bed in the morning when I can - which isn't often.
- I just want to remember this time. It has gone so fast - 6 weeks already! One of my biggest problems is not taking time and enjoying the moment. I'm always worrying about the next thing on 'the list.' I forever want to remember my tiny baby sleeping in my arms while I stroke his face and wonder how we ever got so lucky. I want to enjoy my boys rough-housing together and love the sound of their laughter before it's over. I want to remember how the boys holler and run to the door when they hear Daddy's key in the lock. I even want to remember how many times the older two have been in time out lately, because it gives us a chance to talk, apologize, hug, and try harder to do better. I love my family - Zach, Keegan, Kayden, and my sweet baby Kyler. And that is something I will never forget.

One Month (and Happy New Year!!)
In his first month, Kyler:
chunked up at Grandma and Grandpa G*'s house (he's about 11 lbs)
got to know his big brothers (Kayden LOVES to hold his hand and say "Hi Bubba!")
bundled up and went for a walk on the farm,
and celebrated the birth of our Savior with family.
A belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all!
