*Corrections*

For those of you who may be holding a different idea of how my little Keegan behaves from previous stories, allow me to rectify the situation. Here is a conversation we had yesterday when Keegan brought me this book to read to him before naptime:

Keeg: Mom, will you read me some of the bad stories in the scriptures?

Me: The bad stories? The scriptures have good stories in them.

Keeg: No I like the bad stories better.

Me: What bad stories?

Keeg: You know, the bad stories where they kill people. Those are my favorite.

Me: Keegan, those stories are in there to teach us that it is wrong to hurt people. Heavenly Father doesn't like it.
Keeg: Yeah. Well, I love the stories where they fight with swords and kill people. Will you read me one please?

At least he wanted me to read him the scriptures. That counts for something, doesn't it? I read him the story of Ammon. I tried explaining to him that Ammon was being a missionary. All he wanted to know was "where was the picture with the arms that got cut off?" Boys.

LOL!! Yes!! Perhaps those stories are in the scriptures to get the boys engaged. I'm sure it isn't a terrible thing, he's just a boy.

OOooops, I just might know where he got the 'arms cut off' story.... :D Maybe you will want to substitute our class more often eh?? :)

Well, at least he likes the scriptures. And I am sure the blood, guts and gore thing is purely genetic, as is the making car and machine noises.

Boys will be boys. That is why, after having grown up in a family of all girls, I struggled with my own boys at this age. Your dad used to say, "they are just being boys!" How would I know!

He good comment by mom. Ward too doesn't understand the oppisite. His girls and role playing just puzzles him. We look forward to the special prize from you. That is really sweet of you. She is still going strong. Loves to all.

We read from that same book every night before my boys go to bed. I often wonder what nightmares I am promoting. Those stories are quite violent!

Jackie! I found your blog through Shyann's. You have such a cute family! I've been scanning through all your fun posts, but I absolutely loved this story the best. My 3 year old daughter had to go back and find the infamous Ammon picture every night for 3 or 4 weeks after we read it. She also has been impacted by the intensity of BofM stories. A few months ago she was saying the prayer - started out fairly conventional, and then all of the sudden she gets louder and louder - up to yelling, and saying this: "I don't love the Lamaphites . . . they are BAD! THEY KILL PEOPLE!! I WILL KILL THEM!" At this point I am laughing as hysterically as I can under my breath - but my husband decided to intervene. He reminded her to be reverent, and then in the sweetest voice a 3-year-old girl can find, she continued "I will kill them." and then went on with a fairly normal prayer after that.

That's a super long comment - but just know, you're not alone :) And I'm sure Keegan won't be permanently scarred from the stories :). Kids are so hilarious.

It's great to see all the fun things you have going on in life! I'll talk to you again soon!
